My Philosophy Page

My philosophy encompasses a variety of influences that I have experienced throughout my life time. My father imbued on me the principles of : "Honesty, Integrity, and Reliability" which is the slogan he came up with for our coin stop in 1972. My father also considered himself strongly a "golden rule" dealer. His strict Air Force training also made for a rigid and tight enviroment of low tolerance for excuses and failure in our family. My mother made sure me and my brothers were indoctrinated with a weekly dose of Catholism by attending Sunday Mass as well as Sunday School. Much went in one ear and out the other, as the slumberly manner in which it was taught was quite honestly very boring. However, I did manage to absorb enough to have shored up a strong moral base of right versus wrong. I also became pretty self aware at an early age and was able to question and raise doubt, if not only to myself in my own mind, about a variety of pre-sets that most of the masses followed as a given. I guess being gay and knowing the overall society contradiction that I was not an abomination or a deviant but instead real genuine person made me realize early on that there were many things in this world that were perhaps the majority view or even the standard practices in society, yet were not in essence actually the way things should be. We're still a savage evolving race with still much to learn and mature, and the sad part is that most of us will not acknowledge this and want to enjoy the facade of being referred to as "civilized."
